Auckland Latter-day Saint Youth Cook 140 Meals for Families Doing it Tough

Teenagers from an Auckland congregation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints cooked 140 meals last night for families staying at De Paul House, Northcote.

Two of the youth, Tom Hooper and Ethan McKay, delivered the meals this morning to Ms Jan Rutledge, the De Paul House manager.

Ms Rutledge congratulated the youth group on their initiative and thoughtfulness. "It involved not only significant time and effort but also a good deal of thought," she said.

De Paul House provides accommodation and other services to families going through difficult circumstances.

Around 30 youth from the Albany Ward (congregation) split into small teams last night, cooking at several families' homes.
