'LDS Share Expos' to Offer Ways to Convey Uplifting Messages on the Internet

Members and friends of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Auckland and Hamilton will have the chance over the next two weeks to learn ways to share uplifting messages with others using social media.

The expos will focus on eight different social media platforms:  Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, Google+, blogs, Twitter, and websites.

Last month, Elder David A. Bednar, a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints, said, “I exhort you to sweep the earth with messages filled with righteousness and truth – messages that are authentic, edifying, and praiseworthy – and literally to sweep the earth as with a flood.”

Latter-day Saint missionaries, Bruce and Patsy Brereton, are working with a team of young volunteers in preparation for the expos. “It is great to see so many young people anxiously engaged in a good cause,” Sister Brereton said.

“You don’t have to change your life to share positive messages about the gospel,” she said.  “By sharing these messages, your life and the lives of others will be changed. Learn it, live it, love it, share it.”
