Hamilton Couple Helps Young People Achieve Education and Career Goals

Hamilton couple, Rachel and Clive Bourne, enjoy helping young people focus on setting and achieving education and training goals. 

This week Hamilton News featured the couple and their efforts over many years to lift youths' aspirations and achievements.

"Since the South Pacific Islands Institute (SPII) began in 1988 it has evolved from a humble mother and son operation teaching eight students industrial sewing, to providing a variety of courses for up to 150 students," Hamilton News reported.

"It has never lost that familial quality however, which directors Rachel and Clive Bourne said was key to keeping at-risk youth on the straight and narrow."

The parents of eight are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Last year they and their children appeared in a short video about Sabbath day observance.
