Elder D. Todd Christofferson Thanks Missionaries

In a meeting in Auckland today, Latter-day Saint Apostle, Elder D. Todd Christofferson, told the 500 full-time missionaries in attendance that he had “confidence in their abilities as messengers of God to invite the peoples of the Pacific to come unto Christ.”

Elder Christofferson, a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, has been visiting the South Pacific for the last few days.

Before today’s special conference for missionaries from the New Zealand Auckland Mission and New Zealand Hamilton Mission began, Elder Christofferson shook hands with and greeted all in attendance.

In his remarks, Elder Christofferson spoke words of deep gratitude to those who have “voluntarily sacrificed their time to serve the Lord at this time in their lives.”  He also responded to questions from missionaries.

In addition to visiting New Zealand this weekend, Elder Christofferson and his wife Katherine have met with Church members, news media professionals and government leaders in American Samoa, Samoa and Solomon Islands during their Pacific visit.

Members of the Pacific Area Presidency, Elder Kevin W. Pearson, Elder O. Vincent Haleck and Elder S. Gifford Nielsen—along with their respective wives, June Pearson, Peggy Haleck and Wendy Nielsen—have accompanied the Christoffersons in different parts of their visit.
