Linda Sheffield Reeves and Carol Foley McConkie, general auxiliary leaders in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will visit the South Pacific this month.
The leaders will meet with local Latter-day Saints and guests of the Church in Melbourne, Christchurch, Wellington and Papeete.
Sister Reeves is Second Counsellor in the general presidency of the Church's Relief Society—one of the oldest and largest women’s organisations in the world, with close to six million members in 170 countries.
She is a special education graduate of Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and has also lived in California U.S.A.
Sister Reeves taught school before the first of her and her husband's 13 children was born. From that time on she has dedicated her life to raising her children, serving in Church assignments, and loving her neighbours and friends.
Sister Reeves and her husband, Melvyn K. Reeves, served in the Church's California Riverside Mission from 2008 to 2011.
Sister McConkie is the First Counsellor in the general presidency of the Latter-day Saints' Young Women organisation.
She was raised in Delaware, New York, and Arizona in the U.S.A, and received a degree in English education from Arizona State University.
Sister McConkie and her husband, Oscar W. McConkie III, are the parents of seven children. The couple served in the Church's California San Jose Mission from 2005 to 2008.
The Young Women organisation has a membership of more than one million teenagers in countries around the world. Their motto is “Stand for Truth and Righteousness.”
