‘My Island Christmas’ Event Gives All Samoans Chance to #LightTheWorld

Annual celebration continues tradition of unity and joy

An eight-day festival of Christmas music and colourful lights is underway in the nation of Samoa.

According to a news report in the Samoa Observer, the event provides members of different churches a chance to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ through choir music, Christmas lights and spending time together.

This year’s theme is #LightTheWorld, a global initiative sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that encourages people to do good deeds for each other throughout the Christmas season.

Church leader, Elder Meliula Fata, says the event is for all Samoans.
