The Pacific Area Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints issued the following statement today following yesterday's volcanic eruption on New Zealand's White Island.
"We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of several visitors to White Island off the coast of New Zealand yesterday following a volcanic eruption. We are praying for the families who are mourning the loss of loved ones, and for those who are injured. We are grateful for the efforts of emergency response and health professionals. As a church we stand ready to support efforts to offer love and assistance to those impacted by this disaster."
