Wellington Mormons Open Doors, Share Beliefs

Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Wellington are opening their doors to members of the public with an interest in knowing more about their faith next week.

The Church is holding a ‘Come and See’ fireside for Latter-day Saints, their guests, and others interested in learning more about Latter-day Saints’ beliefs.

A fireside is a Mormon term for an evening gathering where Christ-centred messages are shared through music and remarks.

The event, on 5 August,  will be at the Church’s Petone meetinghouse at 14 Kensington Avenue, and will begin at 6.30pm.  The guest speaker will be Elder Tom McVey of the Wellington New Zealand Mission.

‘Mormon’ is a nickname for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
