VIDEO: Church Leader Launches #LightTheWorld in Vanuatu on National Television

"Every time we care more about other people than ourselves, we express our love to our Saviour"

Members and friends of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Vanuatu are taking part in this month's #LightTheWorld Christmas initiative.

The annual initiative, sponsored by the Church, encourages members of the faith and others to do good deeds throughout the Christmas season, inspired by the example and teachings of Jesus Christ.

On Saturday 1 December, local Latter-day Saint leader Yvon Basil introduced the #LightTheWorld Christmas initiative to the nation on television station TBV.

Inspired by the invitation, one group of volunteers from the Church's Blacksands Ward (congregation) got involved by picking up litter on the roadside from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' Blacksands meetinghouse to Bauerfield Airport.

Other congregations took part in similar community service efforts on Saturday.
