President Pierre Bize and Sister Brigitte Bize, of Los Angeles, California, United States, began their service this month leading The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ Tahiti Papeete Mission. The Bizes succeed President Benjamin T. Sinjoux and Sister Tarita Alexandre Sinjoux who led the mission from 2011 up until last month.
President Bize has served in several leadership positions in the Church, including as a member of a stake presidency, district president, bishop, and as a missionary in the France Paris Mission. He is a former president and CEO of the CSE Insurance Group Sister Bize has also served in a variety of volunteer roles in the Church, including leadership and teaching positions in the Church’s organizations for women, young women and children. Both were born in Algeria and they are parents to five children. Mission presidents and their wives are called to lead and support missionaries within a Latter-day Saint mission for three years.
