New Zealand Latter-day Saint to Play Fantine in Les Misérables

New Zealander Patrice Tipoki is soon to star in an Australian production of Les Misérables. In an article in The Weekly Review, the singer talks about her career so far, as well as her faith and family.

Throughout her career, The Weekly Review reports that “Tipoki has remained true to her faith.”

“I grew up going to The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints with my family, but when I moved away at 16 going on 17 it was the first opportunity I had to decide if I wanted to stay with it,” she told The Weekly Review.

The article continues: “Today her faith informs everything she does and…she credits her faith for sustaining her through the loss of her younger brother Maui in a car accident three days before her wedding to Richard Arkins.”

“Because of my belief in eternal families, I don’t feel despair. I am blessed with a peace…I can see him again.”
