Mormon Tabernacle Choir Marks 84 Years of 'Music and the Spoken Word'

This week the Mormon Tabernacle Choir marks the 84th anniversary of the first broadcast of its weekly Music and the Spoken Word program.

Music and the Spoken Word has become the world’s longest continuously running network broadcast.  It is broadcast over 2,000 radio and TV stations and cable systems.

The program airs each Sunday at 6am on New Zealand’s Prime Television.

Previous to the first radio broadcast, the choir sang at church conferences.
