Member of Parliament Praises Mormon Community Gardeners

Australian Federal Member of Parliament, Mr Laurie Ferguson, describes a community garden project in Sydney’s Minto Heights as a “breath-taking endeavour” on his website this week.

The garden, maintained by members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and others from the community, is producing bananas, yams, taro and sweet potatoes.

Mr Ferguson notes that “all financing comes out of their own pockets.”

He also says, “The stress is on keeping youth close to the community, culture, farming roots and nature.”
