Latter-day Saint Young Adults Sing National Anthems Before Netball Test Match

A group of young members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints sang the New Zealand and South African national anthems Tuesday night (28 July) to begin a netball test match between the two nations.

Feedback from those attending the game, regarding the singing, was overwhelmingly positive.

After the final whistle blew, one of the match officials said, “The performance of both anthems by the choir was in my view the most impressive example I have seen on a netball court around the world and indeed across many sports…the renditions were flawless.”

The singers are all members of a new Latter-day Saint congregation — formed earlier this year in Takapuna — especially for young singles.
