Latter-day Saint Designer Fosters a Vision for Wellington’s Future

Five months ago a forward-thinking member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, was named Chief Planner of the Wellington City Council.

David Chick, brought up in Hobart, Tasmania, exudes excitement for his new city-shaping position and is making plans to work with the Wellington community to leave a positive imprint on the the future of the capital city of New Zealand.

    

In a recent article in The Dominion Post, David expressed his feelings about what is possible for the city.

“This exciting new role is all about facilitating, creating and enhancing the best possible physical environments that contribute to making Wellington even more liveable and attractive as a place to live, work, invest and play.

"As a landscape architect and urban designer, I am passionate about cities and creating places for people.”
