According to the Waihi Leader newspaper, 42 people from Waihi, Tauranga, Tokoroa, Otorohanga and Katikati attended the presentation.

“All were keen to learn the best way to research and access family searches for their family tree,” the newspaper reported.

In the coming weeks the Gordons will teach similar family history classes in Hamilton, Huntly, Tauranga, Gisborne, Rotorua and Murupara.
