Latter-day Saint Choir Performs for American Samoan Governor and First Lady

A Latter-day Saint choir sang for American Samoan Governor Lolo Moliga, First Lady Cynthia Moliga and other guests at a Christmas event in Pago Pago last month.

The event was the opening ceremony of the American Samoa Arts Council yearly televised Christmas program. The choir performed the opening and closing musical items.

The program included the lighting of the island Christmas tree by First Lady Cynthia Moliga. 

Latter-day Saint leader, President Nile Muliselu, spoke on the significance of the birth of the Saviour.

Governor Lolo Moliga gave the closing remarks. 

The Latter-day Saint choir, led by Kuresa Purcell and conducted by Shirley DeLa Rosa, comprised members of the Church's Mapusaga Ward (congregation).

Following the opening ceremony, the choir, along with nine other choirs from various denominations and schools, each performed two Christmas songs.  

The Latter-day Saint choir performed at several other activities and meetings during the month of December.
