Interfaith Group Brings Personal Care Items, and Hope, to Inmates

In a special ceremony held at Fiji's Nasinu Corrections Centre on Saturday 28 June, representatives from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Methodist Church, the Seventh-day Adventist Church, the Salvation Army and All Nations Christian Fellowship donated personal care packs to 130 inmates.

As requested by the Centre's Officer in Charge, the donated packs included 648 bars of soap, 432 tubes of toothpaste, 216 toothbrushes, 400 rolls of toilet paper, 147 shaving razors and 240 bottles of coconut oil.

This was the first time these denominations have united together in service. Their shared objective was to bring love and hope to those in need.

In his remarks to the group, Elder Adolf Johansson, a leader in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, thanked the inmates for their singing of the hymns during the ceremony, and reminded them that God had not forgotten them.
