French Polynesian TV Station Broadcasts Faith-Promoting Programming

TNTV provides a monthly broadcast of LDS stories relating to church, family, family history, and community service. Jean-Charles Gallimard is the journalist and presenter for these stories. Content is provided by Bill and Yesta Heuea, local members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. These stories have been broadcast for over ten years now.

    
                       

          

Tahiti Nui Television is a government owned tv station that has been in operation since June of 2000. It is located in Papeete, Tahiti. The station broadcasts current local and world news along with cultural stories of French Polynesia. Included also, is weather, sports, and religion.

Recently, Matahi Tutavae, another journalist for TNTV traveled to Laie, Hawaii to the campus of Brigham Young University. There, he followed the activities of French Polynesian students attending the university. He highlighted the opportunities given many students to work at the Polynesian Cultural Center theme park, where they are able to develop applied skills to advance their career opportunities in their home countries.
