VIDEO: French Polynesian Teen Explains His Connection to New Church History

"'Saints' isn't just a book about the history of Utah...it's also a history of my ancestors"

Arikinui Pecqueux, a 16-year-old from Auckland, New Zealand, traces his family's membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints back to the 1800s.

In this video, produced by Brigham Young University student JoAnne Wadsworth, Pecqueux explains how his family learned the gospel on the island of Tubuai from one of the Church's earliest missionaries, Addison Pratt.

"Saints: The Standard of Truth," the first volume of the Church's new official history, covers part of that story.
