Fiji Athletes Worship with Samoan Saints

Thousands of visitors have come to Samoa for this week's 2019 Pacific Games.

Among the athletes, officials and supporters are several members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

A group of athletes from Fiji attended this morning's worship service at Pesega Fifth Ward (congregation) in Apia.

Orisi Naivalurua (pictured, fourth from the left) is a member of the Fiji national men's basketball team. He accepted the invitation from his Latter-day Saint teammates to come to church this morning.

He said he was looking forward to competing in the Games and was happy to come to sacrament meeting today with his fellow athletes.

The events of the Pacific Games begin tomorrow and continue for two weeks.
