Church Launches French Language Pacific Mormon Newsroom Website

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints today launched a Mormon Newsroom website for French-speaking journalists and others interested in the Church and its members in the Pacific region.

The site, called ‘Salle de Presse Pacifique,’ will provide media professionals, bloggers, opinion leaders and the public with news and other resources about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Pacific region.

You can access the site at www.mormonmedia.org.pf or by clicking on “International” on the top right-hand corner of the home pages of Mormon Newsroom or Pacific Mormon Newsroom and selecting ‘Pacifique Français.’

“Our goal is to help media and others not of our faith to understand the Church for what it really is, and our members for who they really are,” said Pacific Area President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Elder James J. Hamula.

“There are close to half a million Latter-day Saints in the Pacific region, who are part of a worldwide membership of over 14 million.  Our members work in cities, towns and villages as police officers, teachers, doctors, builders and in many other occupations.  We are happy to be part of the fabric of communities throughout the Pacific."

Elder Hamula added: “Our members strive to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, to raise strong families, and to do good in their communities.  This newsroom website will help those not of our faith, who speak French, to get to know us better.”
