Frances J. Monson, Wife of President Thomas S. Monson, Passes Away

Frances J. Monson, wife of Thomas S. Monson, president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, passed away at 6:35 a.m. this morning in a Salt Lake City hospital surrounded by family. She had been hospitalized for several weeks and passed away peacefully of causes incident to age. Sister Monson was 85 years old. Funeral arrangements are pending.

Those missions have basically divided the country north and south, with headquarters in Auckland and Wellington. As of 1 July, a third mission for the Church will exist in New Zealand. Headquartered in Hamilton and called the New Zealand Hamilton Mission, it will cover 10 stakes and one district of the Church across the middle of the nation’s North Island.
