Volunteers throughout the world donate thousands of hours each week to help over three million people each month connect with their ancestors.
These volunteers offer their time and expertise at over 4,600 Latter-day Saint family history centres in 126 countries.
One volunteer, Atalina Ah Hoy from Pesega, Samoa, has been involved in family history research for the past 30 years.
“My journey in family history began when I was a young returned missionary attending a BYU-Hawaii ward and was asked to attend the genealogy and family history class,” Mrs Ah Hoy says.

“After moving back to Samoa, I was called as the director of family history for the Pesega Stake. At the present time I am serving as the family history adviser for all of Samoa.”
She adds: “The greatest reward I have received is knowing that I have helped others. I have received great blessings in my life.”
