VIDEO: Young Australian Shares a 'Day-in-the Life of a Mormon Missionary in Tahiti'

Samuel Elijah Hansen, originally from Perth, Australia, is three months into a two year stint as a Mormon missionary in Papeete, Tahiti.

As a missionary with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he is serving the French Polynesian people through regular community service, as well as sharing his beliefs about God, Jesus Christ, families and how to find peace in a sometimes difficult world.

Teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ in the French language doesn’t come easy to a young Aussie boy, so he spent nine weeks at the Church’s Missionary Training Centre in Provo, Utah before going to Tahiti.

Each day he practices his French with his missionary companion.

In addition to language lessons, Elder Hansen packs a lot more into each day. Learning, praying, serving others, and teaching people about Latter-day Saint beliefs.
