Leaders for Church's Samoa Mission Arrive in Apia

President Reed C. Tolman and Sister Debra Lane Tolman, new leaders of the Samoa Apia Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, arrived in Samoa this month.

The Tolmans succeed President Johnny Leota and Sister Betta Leota, and will serve in the mission for the next three years.

President and Sister Tolman have four children and have a home in Mesa, Arizona, United States.

The couple recently served together as full-time missionaries in the Samoa Apia Mission.

Brother Tolman has served in a number of Church leadership and teaching positions including bishop, young adult teacher, and Sunday School teacher. Previously he worked as a mediator and attorney at Tolman and Osborne.

Sister Tolman has also served in a variety of leadership and teaching positions in the Church’s women’s organization, the Relief Society; the Latter-day Saints’ children’s organization, the Primary; and the Church’s Young Women organization.

Latter-day Saint mission presidents and their wives teach and provide support to approximately 150-200 young and senior missionaries in each of the 406 missions globally.
