Partnering with the Ranui Residents’ Association, missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Wellington, New Zealand mission spent time on Saturday August 25, volunteering their service planting trees.
In just one hour 350 trees were planted by the missionaries and other volunteers.
Natalie Jones, Volunteer Conservation Wellington, was pleased with the result and described the missionaries as “enthusiastic” and looks forward to working with them on future projects.
Missionaries volunteer to serve for a period of 18 months to two years at their own expense and spend their time serving the communities in which they live as well as teaching the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.
Most missionaries in the Church are young people under the age of 25, who serve in nearly 350 missions throughout the world.
