Community Discusses Possible Development of Temple View

A meeting was held with Temple View and Hamilton residents, as well as Church, community and civic leaders on Sunday evening at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' meetinghouse in Temple View.

Presiding Bishop of the Church, Bishop H. David Burton shared with attendees ideas for development of the community including conceptual-level education, legacy, retirement village, church and community facilities.

Bishop Burton stressed that these were preliminary concepts and welcomed collaboration from residents, City leaders and other interested persons so the final plan for development honoured all who have contributed to the community over the decades, as well as enriched the lives of families and young people now and in the years ahead.

Also in attendance were members of the Church's Pacific Area Presidency, Elder James J. Hamula and Elder Kevin W. Pearson.

Kent Money and Don White, Temple View Envisioning Project leaders, are moving from the United States to Temple View to continue to move the collaborative process forward.

Attendees commented after the meeting that it was a positive discussion.
