Bringing Books to Fiji Children

Responding to a need for more school resources in rural Fiji villages, Latter-day Saint volunteers from the United States and New Zealand delivered around 2000 books to a school on the Fiji island of Bau today.

The books were donated by Latter-day Saint children, their parents, teachers and others in Suva. Another 40,000 books donated by New Zealanders are being shipped to Fiji and will be distributed to other schools throughout the country in the coming weeks.

The project was organized by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and supported by members of the Church and many other organizations and individuals in New Zealand and Fiji.
