'Come to General Conference with Us'

New Zealand Latter-day Saints invite friends to listen to modern-day prophets and apostles

Twice a year, in April and October, members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints world-wide gather for General Conference.

During six sessions, participants are taught and uplifted by sacred music and messages from inspired Church leaders, many of whom are prophets and apostles, special witnesses of Jesus Christ.

"No other messages are more important for people and families of the world than those that will be heard, seen and felt at General Conference," according to Elder O. Vincent Haleck, Pacific Area President of the Church.

New Zealand Latter-day Saints are responding to Elder Haleck's encouragement by extending invitations in person or via email, text and videos on Facebook, and other social media channels to family, friends and neighbours.

"Every six months we are blessed with the opportunity to hear inspired words of counsel and encouragement directly from modern-day prophets and apostles," Elder Haleck said.

“Let’s invite our family, friends and others to join in that blessing. As they accept our invitations, they will feel God’s love and receive inspiration to help them in their own lives and families.”

The six two-hour sessions of General Conference can be viewed via the Internet at local Church meetinghouses in New Zealand and elsewhere in the Pacific throughout the day on Saturday, 8 October and Sunday, 9 October.

Also, all are welcome to view, listen to, or read the transcripts of the proceedings of the world-wide conference online at LDS.org.
